The Cheerful affair: Meenesh Bhatia’s life
Meet Mr. Meenesh Bhatia, currently the managing director at Flexibles, a company providing hoses and hose pipes.
He is someone who we hear is very protective of his business and doesn’t want to let go of it anytime soon. Apart from work, he is into a lot of sports. A champion of Table Tennis and a lover of squash, he makes it a point to take time out for sports. He cycles daily and often even goes for walks to maintain fitness. He is also a part of the Rotary Club of Faridabad and donates blood twice a year.
“His day is usually a mix of everything- Work, exercise, humor. He is really someone who makes sure his life is never revolving around just one thing. He loves buying quirky little things like tabletops, Colourful hand fans. He recently got himself a kindle and has started reading.”
He has developed one rule for himself in the recent past, he always sleeps by 11 pm, no matter what the occasion is. But, Saturdays are always cheat-days where he would put out a Hollywood movie and watch it till 2 am. Oh and, talking about cheat days, in his own words, “Desserts have a special place in my body and no meal is complete without it.” (We can relate, can’t we?)
Four years back while booking railway tickets, Mr. Meenesh Bhatia’s mother reminded him to book her ticket in the senior citizen category. He replied by saying, “Yes, I’m booking mine in the same category.” This was followed by a one minute silence and then everyone around broke down into bouts of laughter realizing that he had actually crossed 60 and was categorically a senior citizen.
We’re sure looking at his lively life, you wouldn’t have ever guessed he is a senior citizen if we hadn’t told you that in the first place. It’s time we look beyond labels! Well, this clearly shows how nothing except a number is what distinguishes a youngster from a senior citizen. It has nothing to do with the labels that are often attached to old age.
The Star Senior Conference celebrates and explores the world of senior citizens like these and more. If you think you know someone and want their story to be featured, do share them at firstname.lastname@example.org
